Problem:
The first order of business for museum officials was to protect valuable items from damage while keeping the display rooms open, bright and friendly to visitors. Curators wanted to achieve this environment by allowing daylight to stream in through the museum's 24 windows and still protect the irreplaceable items inside from being faded by the sun or damaged from heat. They also wanted to remove any glare that might affect viewing of the storied displays.
