	2 Lads Winery, Traverse City, Michigan

	2 Lads Winery sits on top of a hill over looking Grand Traverse Bay on Mission Point, the famous fruit growing district of northern Michigan. It’s brand new and ultra-modern tasting room takes full advantage of the spectacular view of the bay, but because it faces east, the solar gain in the mornings made the room virtually unusable in the peak summer wine tasting months. The building’s air conditioning simply could not keep up with the sun.

Halcyon installed three enormous shades (12’ x 20’) using its gray/gray embossed film on a spring assisted pull-chain roller system. Visitors at 2 Lads now take their time in the summer to soak up the natural beauty surrounding them in the cool comfort of the tasting room. The air conditioning system is no longer over-taxed which will ensure its longevity as it consumes considerably less energy than it did when it was contending with unrelenting solar gain.
