Halcyon Shades Test Results
Independent test of Halcyon Shades has proven that they are an effective energy saver. They also help preserve carpets, furniture and art work as well.
Recent infrared thermography tests conducted with the St. Louis Metropolitan Fire Department revealed that Halcyon Shades are so effective at reflecting infrared light that the heat signature of the human body cannot be seen through the shade film by fire department-grade infrared scanners. Halcyon’s bronze/silver and gray/silver films are being used on military bases because in addition to keeping buildings cool in hot climates, during ordinary daylight hours they act as two-way mirrors preventing those outside from seeing in while allowing those inside to have a clear view outside. This helps protect those working in buildings from sniper fire. Even infrared sniper scopes are thwarted by the IR reflectivity of the film.
