It is not as easy as it looks. Most people think they know how to measure a window shade. Halcyon makes its shades within 1/16 of inch tolerances to the measurements sent to us. Hold a tape measure incorrectly can make your measurements be off by a 1/4 inch or more. Before you measure your windows for Halcyon Shades take a minute to review our measurement instructional guide. It can save you money by avoiding costly mistakes. Programming Motorized Shades - Video Instructions

Halcyon Shades uses Somfy motors and remote controls on its battery operated and 24 volt hard-wire systems. These systems typically come with a one channel Somfy Telis 1 or five channel Somfy Telis 4 remote control. Multiple remote controls are available. Halcyon programs these motorized systems in the factory to drop to your specified length. Occasionally, however, you may need to reprogram these motorized systems. You have installed your shades and you want to make sure they last as long as possible because now you understand how great they work. Cleaning the shades is super easy, but not intuitive. Our shades are best cleaned with isopropyl alcohol or plain rubbing alcohol. Do not use window cleaner! Halcyon's retro shades have a simple bracket that is easy to install, but there are a few things that you should know before you do it yourself. You can download our easy to follow instruction sheet by clicking on the photo to the left. Following these instructions will ensure that your shades are installed right the first time and will a way that is best suited for you window frame configuration.
Mounting Cassette Brackets - Downloadable Instructions

Halcyon Shades can be purchased with optional Modern (square) and Contemporary (curved) cassettes. Both types of cassettes use the same bracket system that allows you to snap in and snap out the entire shade assembly. This makes installing and removing Halcyon Shade cassettes easy. When installing Halcyon Shades cassettes you always want to listen for the "click" to make sure that you shade is securely locked into the brackets. Halcyon Shades fascia systems come in both square and curved configurations. The both work with the same bracketing system and the fascia plates attach to the brackets in the same way. Fascia brackets can be mounted with the mounting screws set horizontally or vertically like all of our bracket systems. Our spring-loaded pull-down shades are used in homes as well as in large earth moving mining equipment. Halcyon Shades spring roller shades have steel tube cores with steel and nylon clutch and end plug assemblies for superior durability. Spring roller shades offer the same heat reduction as our chain driven and motorized shades. The mounting brackets for these shades are simple and secure and like all of our other mounting systems, are designed to allow either horizontal or vertical screw sets.
